Google's YouTube vidoe service is touted to stop Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) support come this March 13th, although they did not state it directly, they did mention that "users will still be able to watch YouTube on IE6. As the Web evolves, our goal is to keep up by making YouTube a richer, faster, and more dynamic experience for everyone." Apparently, "old browsers" would mean any release before IE7, Firefox 3.0, Chrome 4.0, or Safari 3.0. Guess no tears will be lost on this news for Microsoft though.[

It seems that LG has suffered from an unwanted leak, where all and sundry now know about their 2010 roadmap. Most of the TVs that were introduced at CES last month are scheduled for a March or April release, including a new 3D version of the LH9500 series - the LX9500 which ships later this May. For those who prefer to settle for something in the mid-range can check out the LX6500 instead. Other devices from LG to roll out would be a 3D-capable BD580 Blu-ray player, active shutter 3D glasses and a webcam peripheral for the 720p Skype feature. No word on pricing for any one of these though.[Ubergizmo]

Kanguru today announced that it has partnered with BitDefender to provide antivirus protection to Kanguru Defender Elite Secure Flash Drives. The Kanguru Defender Elite is a highly manageable, encrypted flash drive. It utilizes 256-bit AES hardware encryption, is tamper resistant and can be remotely managed from anywhere in the world to ensure it is in compliance with organizational policies. The addition of BitDefender’s antivirus protection further enhances the Defender Elite’s security with real-time virus and malware scanning. These anti-malware features prevent the drive from being used to spread malicious programs to unsuspecting host computers
Unprotected flash drives have become a vehicle for spreading malware to computers," said Peter Laakkonen, general manager OEM and technology licensing at BitDefender. "Our partnership with Kanguru and their use of BitDefender’s technology will further expand and increase the level of protection provided by Kanguru’s flash drives to knock-out more threats before they have a chance to reach the user’s computer."
“Not only does the Kanguru Defender Elite protect your data, but it also helps to safeguard your computer as well.” added Noah Manders, product manager at Kanguru Solutions. “Our customers can rest easy knowing that when our drives are connected to their computer, they aren’t bringing along any unwanted viruses or malware.”[PCL]

Guess how much does the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce GTX480 and GTX470 video cards cost? Well if you're a heart patient then you're not advised to read any further. Hold your breathe: the flagship GTX480 is priced at $699.99 while its younger sibling GTX470 cost $499.99! Yes, insane pricing. And if the review is anything to go by then there is absolutely no point in paying absurd amount for NVIDIA's first DirectX 11 cards.
In fact you'll be better off with ATI Radeon HD 5970 (compete directly with GTX480 and is way more power and cheaper) and HD 5870 (compete again GTX470 and provides comparable performance for $100 less).
